Resolutions

They say that the third time is a charm but I’m hoping my second attempt yields some success. Why the absence? Much to do with procrastination and lack of a clear vision. With so many witty, intellectual and insider fashion blogs out there what does someone like me, an armchair observer of arts and culture, have to contribute to the already oversaturated landscape?

First, let me tip my Yedstat bowler to the beautiful bloggers around the world who have been hitting the pavement and reporting back from many years now. You gals (and guys) make my fashion life that much more exciting. Second, let me add that my intention reviving this blog is to justify my disproportionate fascination with beautiful things. No, I can’t cook , I do not do not travel extensively (the economy hasn’t been very kind to me) and I do not rescue puppies. Yet, I know more about fashion than I do the state of US foreign policy and spend more time reading WWD than AdAge.com (shame on me); I’m drowning in fashion magazines, I have every blog bookmarked on my delicious homepage and I roll deep with a crew of fashion insiders and designers. Might as well capitalize on the goldmine.

Rolling with the original idea of an ADD-inspired tribute to all things that make your heart sigh I re-embark on a mission to celebrate the fleeting, the new and emerging, the pulse igniting the forever classics and true aesthetic investments. In the spirit of full-disclosure let’s pick up where we left off. Feel free to chuckle and be sure to check back.

Marc Jacobs is my homeboy...

Not only is MJ my homeboy, but I've just made a new ebay buddy, Ms. Luciana379.
She's a delight to work with and lists new designer gems on the regular. Despite the limited selection Ms. Luciana guarantees authenticity on every item or $$$ back!

My little piece of heaven from Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2005 collection:

...$99 to happiness, baby.

Camis for All

Having spent no less than 6 months in search of the perfectly layerable silk cami, I finally struck gold in DUMBO - go figure.
Spring to summer staple - if you can afford the luxury, buy in BULK!

Long and lean. Available in a variety of neutral colors including creme (shown) and caramel.

Truth be told, this lovely little piece was a delightful departure from Mary Green's signature pieces that include brightly colored mesh boyshorts and tissue-thin lacey bras suitable only for prepubescent teenagers. But credit must be given where credit is due, so much respect for creating this divine slice of simplicity.

$58

Enthused by the wild and wonderful prints featured in Eley Kishimoto's Spring 2006 runway collection. Not for the meek or timid, best when used sparingly and always perfect in moderation. For their Spring 2006 collection, the color/Print Palette featured hi-contrast shades from white, tomato red, bright green, baby blue, pale pink and many more. Repeated prints included love hearts, rainbows, clouds, stars, red lips, butterflies and bold stripes.
